I wanted to try making a decker thing that was voiceover-focussed, and I guess I have some feelings about cohost and my own creative works and what sort of audience they have, and this is what came out.

Created for Decker Fantasy Camp 25 and it may have more context if you're familiar with zine of millie.

I like this project! :)

You've come up with such creative ideas for your zines and decks, and I really admire you for that! but at the same time I feel like it's okay if you don't make each zine more interesting, more visually appealing, with never-seen-before stuff... like... you're just one person. You've got plenty of stuff to write about, that in itself is interesting and innovative, because you're knowledgeable in a lot of topics and you're a good writer! ...and it turns out you're a good voiceover too :D

Ahh I'm shy about my voice though haha but thank you!!!

This is the first time i’ve seen a deck with full voice-over, it works really well! (My brain interpreted it as one continuous monologue, i didn’t even notice you had lots of separate recordings until i unlocked the deck, even though i knew about the 10-sec limit for audio files)

Also, Cohost sounds amazing, unfortunately i only learned about it roughly two months ago through the various Eggbug cameos in decker-related spaces </3 but the revival of personal sites/blogs makes me think people are trying to recreate similar dynamics (especially when they add boards, real time chats and buttons linking to their friends’ sites/blogs)

Anyways, sorry for the mini-ramble and thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I did actually record the voiceover as one continuous monologue in Audacity. I then cut it up into separate lines for importing into Decker. So if it sounded like a single monologue, it's because it was haha!

I'm a big fan of the revival of personal websites. It does have a "shouting into the void" vibe though, since adding like comments or chats or whatnot is kind of not quite a "by default" feature I guess.

Thanks so much for listening to my thoughts :3

I am so very glad we became friends through your zine. And so happy I get to see the things you're making now and in the future.
